Meet Su Ching
Lim Su Ching is a life coach with two decades of legal experience in government and the courts. She partners with professionals to navigate complexity and uncover deeper meaning in their work and lives - so that they can flourish from the inside out and make an impact where it truly matters.
Her clients consistently point to her gentle yet incisive questions, which unlock deep shifts in their perspective and help them gain the clarity and confidence to move onwards and upwards with deeper purpose.
Drawing upon her innate gifts to uplift and empower, her lived understanding and skills of analysis honed through years of working as a lawyer at the Supreme Court, the Attorney-General's Chambers, and the Ministry of Law, she has a unique edge to coaching that combines heart, mind and strength of spirit.
Qualifications & Appointments
Su Ching is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), an Associate Coach with Lifeforming Leadership Coaching and an accredited mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre. She sits on the Panel of Mediators with the Singapore Mediation Centre and is a conciliator with the Ministry of Law, Maintenance Enforcement Division. She holds an LL.B (First Class Honours) and obtained her LL.M on a Legal Service Commission Scholarship.
Her Coaching Methodology
Su Ching believes that meaningful and sustainable change often begins beneath the surface. Rather than simply focusing on what needs to be done, her coaching creates space to explore what lies underneath — the beliefs, assumptions, patterns and ways of seeing that may be keeping someone stuck.
This is the foundation of her Posture Shift Method, a four-step approach that moves from Objective, Obstacle, Posture Shift to Micro-action. From identifying what matters, through understanding what stands in the way, to the inner shift and practical action needed to move forward.
Her work has included coaching professionals and lawyers, facilitating workshops, and co-designing and delivering a research-informed programme examining meaning and sustainability in legal practice, supported by a research granted awarded by the Singapore Academy of Law. She co-presented her findings from the programme at the Legal Profession Symposium and authored the Coaching Report arising from the coaching component.

Her Story
As a mother of two who spent two decades as a lawyer in the Singapore Legal Service, she faced a familiar challenge encountered by many professional women — grappling with what it means to flourish whilst juggling professional and home responsibilities.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, she was already playing the role of a de facto coach to those around her. She would often find opportunities to speak life and encouragement to her friends and colleagues. Sharing in their joy of unlocking new perspectives that are deeply resonant with them or seeing their fresh resolve to move forward in what mattered to them was always a bright spark in the midst of a busy workday. The positive impact these conversations had on others fuelled a growing realisation within her – that her passion lay in the transformative power of genuine, heart-to-heart conversations. It was these moments of connection and empowerment that led her to reflect on the profound impact she could have as a professional life coach and emboldened her decision to transition from the legal world to the realm of coaching.
